NetLink Lite MPI/Profibus
to Ethernet gateway
NetLink
Lite is the neatest, fastest, easiest way to connect S7 to Ethernet.
It is a compact and robust
Ethernet gateway built into a SUB-D housing, with a three meter
long cable for connection to the nearest hub, switch, or directly
to the PC.
The standard TCP/IP protocol
is used, which means that it offers all the advantages of Ethernet,
such as establishment of Teleservice via standard routers, or
a direct link to the Internet.
NetLink Lite can be used
on MPI, or Profibus-DP systems, at up to 12 MBit/s, and automatically
detects whether it is connected to a 10 or 100 MBit/s network.
Installation could not
be easier, as the adapter draws it's power from the MPI interface.
An IP address is assigned on-line, by means of the supplied configuration
program, and is stored in an integrated Flash memory.
The necessary drivers are
included to allow access to S7 controllers from SIMATIC Manager
and WinCC. The device can also be used with ProTool.
This gateway is also available
without the S7 driver for applications where OPC/DDE/DLL/SCADA
only access is required. The driver-less version cannot be used
with Step7.
NetLink Lite can support
two simultaneous clients, for more demanding appl ications see
NetLink
Pro. There
is also a USB version available
All NetLink adapters can
be used in conjunction with Deltalogic and INAT OPC servers, and the
AGLink DLL library.
