NetLink
The NetLink MPI/Profibus
to Ethernet and USB gateways/converters are the neatest, fastest
and easiest way of connecting to S7.

The hugely successful NetLink
Lite has quickly established itself as an ideal way of connecting
S7 to Ethernet.
This compact and robust gateway has the electronics
built into a SUB-D housing and draws it's power from the MPI/Profibus
interface.
The 3 meter cable can be
connected to a switch or hub, or directly to a NIC card by means
of an optional crossover adapter.
NetLink Lite can support
two simultaneous clients, such as SIMATIC Manager and a SCADA
system.

NetLink PRO is integrated
into the type of housing typically used for MPI adapters etc.
It's 1.2 meter connecting
cable is plugged into the S7 CPU, or at any suitable point on
the MPI/Profibus network.
When coupled directly to
the CPU it draws it's power from there, however an external 24v
supply can easily be provided for occasions when NetLink PRO
is connected via the MPI/Profibus network.
A 'piggyback' socket allows
the connection of a second device to the CPU.
NetLink PRO can handle
8 connections on MPI/Profibus and at least 4 on the Ethernet
side.

NetLink USB is a real alternative
to the Profibus PC card.
It's 1.2 meter cable is
plugged directly into the S7 CPU, or at any suitable point on
the MPI/Profibus network.
Power is drawn from the
USB bus but can optionally be provided from an external supply.
On the USB, the Fullspeed
(12 Mbps) and Highspeed (480 Mbps) protocols are supported
